The Ministry of Civil Aviation has just approved the appointment of the amiable Australian national to the helm by the airline as it faces its future that has become more challenging than ever before.
The 47-year old airline executive is Australian by birth and a Certified Accountant. His appointment to the position is no mere coincidence as he has a two-decade experience in the aviation industry and held top positions as well.
Initially, he was appointed the Chief Executive Officer-designate by the airline in June this year while awaiting approval from the Aviation Ministry.
His official appointment as the airline's new CEO comes with a new task at hand as the carrier is going through an extensive 3-year business strategy to lead the airline to a brighter future.
Naresh Goyal, the founder and the current chairman of Jet Airways, expressed his excitement about Mr. Ball's appointment to be his airline's new CEO, saying he has all the qualifications that the company needs to lead the airline into a more challenging future.
The new CEO, in turn, couldn't hide his excitement as well and expressed his gratitude to the company for the trust that was bestowed on him.
The arrival of new entrants in the commercial aviation industry in India has made air travel more affordable to most Indians but, at the same time, has become more difficult to airlines to make profits or break even.
The airline will go through a three-year business plan to which the new CEO is tasked to bring a new concept in air travel that has never been seen before in India.
The new CEO proudly said that the airline has already started to see improvements in its financial health and turn Jet Airways a proud ambassador of India once more.
