Jet Airways gets into serious business slashing base fares for business class on Sunday with hopes of filling up plane seats during off season.
The airline is selling business class tickets at 60 per cent off the regular base price on 180 local flights provided these cover distances below 1,000 kms.
Travelers have until the end of this month to take advantage of Jet Airways' promo which applies to travels scheduled now until middle of October 2015.
For the airline industry, peak months fall between April to June, followed by lean months starting July, up until middle of October.
Airline representatives mentioned that for domestic, business class flights covering distances below 750 kms, the special fare is being offered for as low as Rs 6,999, all inclusive.
For the same flight category but longer flight distances of 750 to 1,000 kms, fares start at a minimum of Rs 8,999.
Fare prices for flight distances beyond the 1,000 km mark are likewise slashed by up to 20 per cent.
Local flight routes from Mumbai to Delhi or Delhi to Bengaluru are just two of the flight destinations on which special price cuts apply.
Jet Airways' Chief Commercial Officer Raj Sivakumar was happy to add that those traveling via business class will enjoy the comfort of a roomy seat pitch as well as full course meals as an option.
As price cut campaigns of this nature come in droves especially this lean season, CAPA India encourages local airlines to still maintain prices at reasonable levels and advises against undermining yields.
