Sholapur Airport, with the code SSE (ICAO: VASL), is a domestic airport, located 10 Km from the city of Sholapur in the state of Maharastra, India. The city of Sholapur is one of the districts that form the western region of Maharastra. Sholapur is a transport hub that connects Maharastra, Kamataka and Andhra Pradesh to Tamil Nadu. The Airport has the geographical coordinates of Longitude: 75° 56’ 0” E: and Latitude: 17° 38’ 0” N. Sholapur Airport’s runway length is 4298 ft, and it has an elevation of 1578 ft.

Sholapur district is famous for historically being ruled by various dynasties. Its name is derived from the word “sola”, meaning sixteen and “pur” meaning village. The city holds a fair, known as the Gadda fair, in vernacular language; it is the major reason for the city’s yearly incoming traffic. The airport is operated by Maharashtra Airport Development Cooperation.
