Sanganeer Airport JAI

Location

Among the various airports in India, Sanganeer Airport JAI is one of the most used ones. This airport is located on the coordinates: 26°49′27″N 075°48′44″E. This airport is situated in the southern region of Sanager, which is around 13 km away from the capital city of the State of Rajasthan, Jaipur. This happens to be the only international airport in the entire state of Rajasthan.

Structure

The Sanganeer Airport JAI, basically has two terminals. One of the terminals caters to the domestic flights and the other one caters to the international flights. Adjacent to the old terminal, another terminal handles the inflow and outflow of cargos. The new terminal building was opened in December 2009. This terminal building is created on land of 22950 square metres. The new building is constructed out of glass and steel, which gives it a very contemporary look. This new contemporary looking building is capable of handling 500 passengers at a time. However, there are further plans to extend the runway to another 12000 ft and to modify the terminal building in such a way that it is able to accommodate 1000 passengers. The terminal building can handle 4 lacks yearly.

Facilities

The Sanganeer Airport JAI is constructed in a way that it provides several facilities to the passengers to make their journey convenient. The various facilities include central heating system, central air conditioning, inline x-ray baggage inspection system integrated with the departure conveyor system, inclined arrival baggage claim carousals, escalators, public address system, Flight information display system (FIDS), CCTV for surveillance, Airport check-in counters with Common Use Terminal Equipment (CUTE), car parking, etc.

Oman Air (destination: Muscat) and SpiceJet (destination: Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Mumbai).
