Pathankot Airport IXP

The Pathankot Airport has been given the code IXP, and is actually a military airport. The airport is located in Gurdaspur. Recently, commercial flights have started operating at the Pathankot IXP. Only domestic flights are being catered at this airport. The airport connects Gurdaspur with Delhi and Kulu. The airport has a 9100 ft long runway, which is 1017 ft elevated. Regular flights from Delhi and Kulu are scheduled at the airport on a daily basis.

A new terminal building has also been constructed at the airport to increase the capacity of handling more passengers and military flights. With this new terminal, the states of Punjab and Himachal are going to be facilitated.

The new terminal building at the airport is equipped with excellent new facilities and is spread over an area of 3850 square metres. This terminal has the capacity for over 300 passengers at peak hours. This airport also possesses the capacity for handling larger aircrafts.

Transportation:

The transportation facilities that cater to the passengers going to and from Pathankot IXP are very good. There is a bus service, which can take passengers from the city to the airport and vice versa. The bus service is relatively cheaper. If one wants to opt for more comfortable travelling, a taxi service is available, and there is also the option of private cars and rental cars. Auto-rickshaws are also a common means of transportation in the city.
