The Nanded airport NDC is built with a runway of 3000 ft length and an elevation of 1900 ft. Rs 940 million were invested in Nanded Airport to improvise it. A humongous terminal building has been constructed with the objective to accommodate around 300 passengers. The large runway has the size as mentioned above and has the ability to serve large aircrafts, like the Boeing 737s and also the Airbus 319-320. With the modifications done on the airport, it now includes three parking bays, mainly for large aircrafts. Furthermore, there are six check-in counters, plush passenger terminals, fuelling stations, and all other passenger and flight operation facilities. All these modifications have made Nanded airport a very suitable one.

The Nanded airport NDC has a constant flow of aircrafts. The major airlines that use this airport include the following; GoAir (destinations: Delhi, Mumbai and Nagpur) and Kingfisher Airlines (destinations: Latur and Mumbai). It was actually the Kingfisher Airlines, which initiated the first commercial flight from Nanded Airport and started operating between the regions of Mumbai – Nanded – Latur.

In month of October 2008, the 300th death anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh and the consecration of Guru Granth Sahib, an important figure as being the last of the Sikh community, were celebrated.
