Kota Airport KTU

Kota Airport is located in the city of Kota in the Rajasthan region of India. It is managed by the Airports Authority of India. The airport is at a distance of almost 10 kilometres from the main city centre.

This airport is not functional currently. It was closed down in 1997, when the city was hit by economic recession. At present, there are no commercial airlines operating from this airport. Most travellers opt for other nearby airports for domestic or international travelling.

Kota Airport is spread over an area of 530 acres and has a runway, which is 4078 feet long. There is only one domestic terminal at the airport, which has a capacity of 20 passengers at peak hours.

Public Transport

Since Kota Airport is not far from the main city, public transport is readily available for travelling to the airport. Passengers can easily find taxis and auto rickshaws for travelling to and from the airport. However, only general taxis are available because there are no prepaid taxi counters at the airport.

Two bus stations are also located in the city, which provide transport facility to the airport. Kota also has a railway station, which is well connected to other main cities.

Car Hire

There are many local car hire companies, which offer transport facilities to the airport. There are no counters of car rental companies at the airport, so arrangements cannot be made on the spot. There are also some international car rental companies such as Avis and Hentz, which provide their services in this region.

Facilities

Kota Airport is a small airport, so it only offers the basic facilities for the passengers. There are no luxury lounges or VIP waiting rooms at the airport. There are also no multi-cuisine restaurants or shops for the passengers. Only basic drinking water facility is provided.

Medical facility is also not available at the airport and there is no extra assistance for the handicapped people. Any arrangements in this regard will have to be made by the passengers themselves.
