Jeypore Airport PYB

Jeypore Airport is located 13 km from Jaipur, in the town of Sanganer. It is the sole international airport in the entire Indian state of Rajasthan and it was just 5 years back in 2005 when this airport gained international status. The reason of gaining international status was mainly related to the heavy incursion of tourists to Jaipur.

The popularity of the airport has been increasing ever since it was granted the status of an international airport. It is obvious from the statistics that in 2005, only 338,573 passengers visited Jeypore Airport; while in 2010, the number increased to 1,267, 876.

There are two terminals at Jeypore Airport. The first terminal which was originally meant for domestic flights is now being used for international purposes. The new terminal which was inaugurated in 2009 is being used for domestic purposes now.

Facilities

It offers excellent passenger facilities such as: central heating/air conditioning systems, efficient x-ray baggage systems, flight information displaying systems, surveillance cameras, efficient car parking systems, on call medical facilities, assistance for physically and mentally challenged passengers, shopping centre, book store, foreign exchange counter, post office, infant room, tea/coffee counter.

Having a capacity to accommodate 500 passengers at one time, the new terminal was opted for domestic purposes, since more influx was seen for domestic flights rather than for international ones.

The airport gives a warm welcome to the people with an attractive entrance gate which is made up of Rajasthani paintings and sandstones. When inside the parking lot, you can appreciate the excellent glass and steel structure terminal with two fountains on its both sides and palm trees all around, in order to maintain fresh air and adequate temperature in the premises.

The main countries which are connected by the airport are Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Muscat. On the other hand, the main domestic flights that are operated from this airport are for Delhi, Mumbai, Nagpur, Ahmadabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Guwahati, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Jammu, Srinagar, Jodhpur, Udaipur, and Chandigarh.

Ground Transport

Jaipur Airport has excellent ground transport facilities. There are shuttle services that are available at the airport. Moreover, taxis, rickshaws, and buses are easily available at and outside the airport. Jaipur Car Rental is a private company functioning at the airport that offers you car hire services with/without chauffeur, as you may please.
