Daman Airport NMB

Daman airport is located in the city of Daman in the Union Territory of Daman, and Diu in India. It is not a public airport and is operated by the Indian Coast Guard. On rare occasions, the airport has been used by commercial airlines, but it is not open to public. There are no domestic or international flights from the Daman airport now.

The Daman Airport is a premier air station of the Indian Coast Guard. It was the first dedicated air station and until today, it remains the most important one in India. It is home to many military squadrons who are responsible for coverage of the Western coast of India. It is fully equipped with all the latest equipment and technology such as navigational aids and beacons. This air station provides parking space mainly for defence aircraft, but sometimes for commercial aircrafts as well. The Daman airport has two runways, one of which is 5909 feet long and the other is 3282 feet long.

It is easy to travel to the Daman Airport by taxis or buses because the city is well connected to all the nearby major cities. The closest city to Daman is Vapi, which is easily reachable by taxi or car. Since it is not a public airport, you cannot find any prepaid taxi booths for passengers.

There are also many local bus services, which provide transport to Daman airport. The nearest train station is located at Vapi, by which passengers can travel to other cities in the state.

Many local car rental companies provide transport facilities to the Daman Airport. However, there are no counters available at the airport; all arrangements have to be made beforehand. There are also many international car rental companies, which are offering services in this region, and these can also be availed.

Facilities

The Daman Airport is not a commercial airport so it does not have the facilities one would expect from a public airport. The airport caters to the needs of the military, and has all the equipment and technology required by the authorities. It is also used as a training centre for the new squadrons and corps.
