Agatti Island Airport AGX

Also known as, Agatti Aerodrome, this airport is located in the southern-most part of the Agatti Island. The island itself is located in Lakshadweep, India. Operated by the Airports Authority of India, it is the only airport, which is located in the Lakshadweep group of islands, in the west coastal parts of India.

Location

Since it is located in an island, the 1,291-meter runway strip of the airport is only a few feet above the sea level.

Flights are operated to and from Bangalore, Cochin, and Chennai. The airlines operating for these destinations are Air India Regional and Kingfisher Airlines (Pawan Hans Helicopter services are also available).

However, Cochin International and Cochin Garuda airports are located at distances of 253 and 245 nautical miles, respectively. There are no terminal facilities available at Agatti Island Airport.
