The budget carrier has launched another first in the commercial aviation industry, the one-of-a-kind self-booking platform dubbed 'SME Traveler'.

The web-based facility will enable customers who work for small and medium-sized companies to book their tickets online with 10% off the published rate. This allows corporate travelers to enjoy more their travel experience with SpiceJet as they will also be able to earn 'Spice Points' for each return travel.

The 'Spice Points' that the customers earn for their completed travel will further enable them to get more discounts on their next bookings.

Businesses which fall under the category only need to register their company name with SpiceJet to qualify. This way, MSME will be able to manage more effectively their travel needs such as schedule, frequency, and, more importantly, expenses.

The 'SME Traveler' tool is designed to help businesses falling under the MSME category to save on travel costs annually. It is estimated that the number of MSME travelers in India hovers between 70 and 100 million. MSMEs contribute around 8% of the country's GDP and 36% of the total value of the nation's exports.
