Jet Airways Increase, Air India Decrease
Indian Carrier Jet Airways have announced that they will be increasing its capacity with new routes and 7 new aircraft in the coming year.
The routes will be organized so that domestic legs will run during the day and will connect with the international part of the flight at night.
Meanwhile, almost 60 Air India flights, including international destinations, have been curtailed or rescheduled until June 15. The decision comes as a surprise in the middle of the peak travel season.
A reported office circular shows that important destinations were connected on a regular basis have been cut by almost 50%, including the Delhi-Heathrow route, where 15 flights were operated every week - now only seven will be operated until June 15.
Similarly, the Delhi-Dubai route that saw 14 flights a week has been cut to seven with instructions of uplifting maximum fuel to these destinations so as to reduce fuel uplifts in Delhi. The Delhi-Kathmandu connection has also been cut from 14 to 7 flights.
