IndiGo Launches Own Fare Promo

Already the largest airline in India in terms of market share, IndiGo doesn't want to stay complacent in its position as it continues to attract new customers while keeping its loyal patrons by offering tickets low enough to encourage people to fly with them.

In a recent launch of its own fare promo, the airline offers one-way tickets for as low as Rs.700 inclusive of fuel surcharge and base fare. The tickets on promo come in two variants, one valid for travel starting January 16, 2015 up to April 30, 2015 and the other, valid for travel between July 1, 2015 and September 30, 2015.

Tickets on offer were made available for booking starting October 3, until seats last.

Its major rivals, fellow low-cost carrier, SpiceJet and full-service, Jet Airways, launched their respective promo fares a week earlier.

Jet Airways currently offer tickets with up to 50% off its regular price on both economy and premiere classes across its network, both domestic and international. Tickets are valid for travel starting November 5 onwards.

IndiGo has another separate promo offer which allows passengers to block their seats free of charge. Through this offer, blocking a seat for up to six hours is allowed without having to actually book it. As soon as the required time elapses, the seat is unblock again and offered for booking.

What makes the offer more attractive to customers is that the blocked seat still keeps the same price the moment it was blocked until the customer decides to book it, without additional cost to the customer.

The booking is confirmed only after the customer makes a payment within the six-hour period or he will lose the seat.

AirAsia India, on the other hand, has an ongoing promo offer as well, with tickets on sale for as low as Rs.690 which is available until October 5, 2015. Tickets are valid for travel starting 15 January 2015 until 30 June 2015.

Jet Airways' fare promo, meanwhile, offers all-in tickets for as low as Rs.908 to routes that AirAsia India also serves. Tickets for this promo offer, however, are only applicable to economy tickets.
