The low-cost leader has decided to relaunch its direct route, Hyderabad-Kuala Lumpur, before the end of this year.
The direct service, which will operate on a once-daily frequency, will commence on December 8, 2014. The announcement came after the founder and AirAsia Group CEO, Tony Fernandes, hinted on his tweeter account that 'the armada is coming' to Hyderabad from Kuala Lumpur.
A promotional offer for the maiden service was made available for booking until October 5, 2014. The all-inclusive one-way fare is offered at a low Rs.2,099 and is valid for travel starting December 8 until October 24 of next year.
The AirAsia Group currently operates international flights out of India through Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai, Cochin and Turuchirappalli to regional destinations like Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Singapore, Bali, and Phuket.
Its Indian subsidiary, AirAsia India, was launched on June 12, initially serving six domestic destinations. It operates from its hub in Bangalore with direct routes to Chennai, Goa, Chandigarh, Goa, Jaipur and Kochi.
AirAsia India is a joint venture between AirAsia Bhd. and its Indian partners, the Tata Group and Telestra Tradeplace.
It currently operates a fleet of two narrow-body A320 aircraft with another six of the same type coming in December this year.
