AirAsia India Commences Service To Pune

The opening of a direct service between Bangalore and Pune will be the airline's 6th route from its hub in Bangalore.
The airline will also launch a route between Pune and Jaipur using the same aircraft as a triangular route with Bangalore. Thus, the return leg to Bangalore will stop over at Jaipur.
Pune will be AirAsia India's 7th destination in its growing domestic network. It is a city of great opportunities for the growth of the budget airline, according to its CEO, Mittu Chandilya.
He was very pleased to find the route as very promising after tickets were easily sold out, giving their flights 100% full"an indication of strong market demand.
AirAsia India operates a hub at Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka state and the fourth largest metropolitan center in the whole of India. Pune, meanwhile, is the second largest city in Maharashtra state, next only to Mumbai. Jaipur, on the other hand, is the capital and largest city in the northern state of Rajasthan.
The budget carrier, according to Chandilya, is the only airline that operates flights on the Pune-Jaipur route. He was optimistic on the new route, adding that it offers immense opportunity for growth.
AirAsia India currently flies to six domestic destinations from its hub in Bangalore. These include Chennai, Goa, Kochi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, and Pune.
