Indian Airline Companies Team up on Points

Indian airline, Kingfisher has announced its partnership with Finnair and oneworld, allowing Finnair Plus members to redeem and earn points.

Members of Finnair Plus are now able to earn Finnair Plus points on the Kingfisher Airlines network and use their points to purchase awards which can be used on Kingfisher Airlines flights. King Club members can also accrue points on Finnair flights and they may use their points for award flights on Finnair routes.

Paavo Virkkunen, VP of Finnair, who is responsible for oneworld relations commented that: "Kingfisher Airlines is one of the world's few five star rated airlines and it complements Finnair service network in India very well,"

Kingfisher Airlines flies to 68 destinations. Kingfisher Airlines has the largest route network in India and flies to key international destinations such as, London, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Dubai, Sri Lanka, Kathmandu and Dhaka. Kingfisher Airlines has a total fleet of 66 ATR and Airbus aircraft.

Meanwhile, Indian airline Jet Airways is offering frequent flyers several new ways to earn their air miles.

Following a new partnership between Jet, Alitalia and Jet Boutique, Frequent flyers on Jet Airways flights to India can now enjoy more benefits from the Jet Privilege club.

Members of the Jet Privilege club can now earn air miles on flights with the Italian airline, Alitalia, while those belonging to Alitalia's MilleMiglia club can earn benefits when they fly with Jet Airways.

Alitalia operates routes to destinations all over the world totaling more than 250,000 flights per year. The new partnership takes the number of Jet Airways air miles sharing deals up to a total of 23.

Members of Jet Privilege club can also earn air miles when they buy merchandise from the Jet Boutique in-flight store. Products on offer include perfume, jewellery, travel accessories, spirits and other alcoholic drinks.

"Jet Privilege has always endeavored to offer its members great value and the introduction of these new partners is another step in that direction," commented Sudheer Raghavan, chief commercial officer of Jet Airways.
