The airline reportedly upped pilot's salaries by 8 per cent while pay

checks of cabin crews were increased by a much higher rate of 16 per cent.

This goes to show that the airline isn't just aiming to stay on top of its game, it also seeks to financially reward employees for a job well done.

As soon as the pay increases are implemented, a first officer working for IndiGo will be getting Rs 2.61 lakh or Rs 3.3 lakh respectively for 50 or 90 hours of flight time. A senior-level officer will get Rs 3.75 lakh or Rs 4.3 lakh for 70 or 90 hours of flight time.

Meanwhile, a captain will be receiving Rs 6.01 for 70 hours of flight or Rs 7 plus lakh for 90 hours of flight.

On the other hand cabin crews will be getting 31,000 to 40,000 monthly, depending on seniority.

Lead cabin attendants will be getting monthly paychecks amounting to Rs 60,000. Check crews are now entitled to Rs 90,000 paychecks for a minimum flight time of 40 hours. Bonuses are also given to cabin crews who are able to attain 90 hours of flight time. These incentives may reach as high as Rs 1 lakh.

At present, there are more than 1,400 pilots flying IndiGo's close to a hundred aircraft.

This is not the first time the airline has rewarded employees with incentives. Since its inception 8 years ago, the airline managed to distribute bonuses for 5 straight years.

Another airline has also upgraded the salaries of its pilots.

SpiceJet pilots flying Boeing 737s got a 10 per cent pay hike in May. Also in the same month, its pilots flying Bombardier Q400s got a much higher 20 per cent pay increase.
